Swapmeet suggestion

Postby harribo » Sat Feb 13, 2010 10:30 pm

Hi All... This is just a suggestion.

What about trying to organise an outdoor Swapmeet one week-end in summer at the field?

We could keep it closed to the club only or throw it open to the other local clubs.

It would give you all a chance to sell your models that you no longer require and maybe give us chance to see some of them fly before we buy them.

Just a thought.

Cheers Paul

Swapmeet

That sounds like a great idea.
We could combine it with a local 'Fly-in'.... have some fun flying, but make sure we have some models up for grabs too.

We could even make it the day for some 'A' and 'B' certificate testing :x

Swapmeet suggestion going ahead

Postby vogon » Sat Feb 27, 2010 7:32 pm

This year we are going to stage an outdoor swapmeet during the Electric 'Fly-in'.

This may attract more modellers to this event, and obviously enlighten non electric pilots to this speciality of our hobby if they just come along to the swapmeet. Bring along any modelling goodies to swap, Electric or otherwise... and of course if you want to see it fly before you buy it, the opportunity is there too. If you have a paste table, bring that along too, otherwise we can just put the models on the floor, and any smaller items can be placed on an old sheet or similar.

This is the first time that we will attempt this, but I will advertise it on the BMFA events pages nearer the time. Anyone interested in this going ahead?
I will organise and marshall the swapmeet, including the advertising and sorting out the logistics etc, and I know that Harribo has offered his services too.
