Flying location - Blenheim lane, Bulwell
Our flying site is located on the Rolls-Royce Hucknall airfield, 2 miles South West of Hucknall.
Visitors are welcome, but please remember this is a private site and non-members need to be invited if they wish to fly with us as a guest. As we are an affiliated BMFA club you to will need your BMFA membership and be fully insured to fly, even if you are under tuition.
Directions: -
From M1 exit Junction 26, follow signs towards Nottingham down the A610 to the roundabout with traffic lights. Take the 2nd exit and follow the signs towards Hucknall, (watch the speed limitations on this stretch 60,40, 30) at the end of this section there is a roundabout, take second exit (straight on) until the next roundabout, take the left turn and then immediately bear left onto the single lane track.....you are now on Blenheim lane. Half mile up the lane and you will see the Wind sock on your right. The airfield entrance is through the metal gate on your right hand side. Open the airfield gates yourself, as no one else will come to you from inside the site. It will not be locked during the weekend, but needs some force to open it. Please close it behind you to discourage undesirables.
This is an active airfield, so unless you arrive with a club member...... please park with the rest of the cars just inside the gate, and ask directions from the control tower or club room next to this parking area. You will be directed on the route to take, keeping to the 'official' tracks around the perimeter of the site. Please stay within the 10 MPH speed limit, and take extra care when crossing the runway ends, check for full sized aircraft taking off and landing.
