Jet weekend 2008 -  By Wemaster

After another terrible summer for flying weather Hucknall Airfield, the weather forecast was rather off-putting. One weather web site said that Saturday was going to be better than Sunday, whereas the next web site disagreed and put Sunday as the better option. One said forget it, and reschedule for the week after. As it happened, between the heavy rain, Saturday was quite warm and occasionally sunny. There was some wind, straight across the runway, but when you are armed with a jet model, you don't seem to mind.

Sunday was in fact a better day all round. More pilots had pre-booked, and so more flying was entered into. After a slow start there were aircraft in the air for most of the time. Ali came along on Sunday with a truck load of models, most of them photographed below.  There were no incidents or accidents, and I think that everyone that came had a good day (or two).

I think Reg would like to thank all that volunteered (or got volunteered) into helping set-up, man the gates and car park, and then de-rigging the site on Sunday.

If anyone has any video footage of the day I would be grateful, along with any additional photos are always appreciated. I will add model details if anyone has them...... if you want to name them for me, I can add that info next to the photos.

These pictures form  Dave Burgin.

Any comments about the last of this years events would be welcome as always...........

Are we supposed to be impressed with the detail?            Me thinks so............
