All Models Weekend - 2011
Just a few photos of our 'All models weekend 2011' - Any further photos would be appreciated to add to these pages...........
A special highlight for us this year was a fly-past by the Battle of Britain Lancaster on the Saturday afternoon. Contact with the BBMF was made and the request posted over a year ago, but the wait was certainly worth it. Contact from the flight crew suggested a 15:04 eta from the East, and flying down the concrete runway and being a reasonably low altitude..
Models were grounded at 15:00, and at 15:02 we saw the plane over the hills at Bulwell, The aircrew spotted the crowd line and flew directly over us. Spectators were impressed by the display and asked me to relay our thanks to the BBMF. A telephone conversation with the crew revealed that the fly-pasts were at 100 feet.... no wonder it was impressive.
